KELLER, TX (January 16, 2009) -
Talk about a smooth transition …
GoVision (www.jumbo.tv) will complete a historic sweep on January 20, when its giant video screens tower over a raucous welcome-home rally for President George W. Bush in Midland, Texas.
The festivities will mark the fourth in a series of major events that began in 2005 when GoVision’s larger-than-life mobile video units broadcast President Bush’s second inauguration ceremony to the crowds gathered along the National Mall.
Next Tuesday, when Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States, four massive GoVision screens – including the world’s largest high-definition mobile LED unit – will provide a superb view to the million-plus spectators expect to attend the historic ceremony.
That same day, in downtown Chicago’s Pioneer Court, crowds will be watching their favorite son take the oath of office on yet another GoVision screen.
“We’re thrilled to be the screen provider of choice for both sides of the political spectrum,” said Chris Curtis, CEO of GoVision LP. “It’s an honor to come full-circle with President Bush, and we’re equally honored to earn the trust of the new team in charge.”
The high-resolution mobile video screens at Tuesday’s events were manufactured by South Dakota-based Daktronics. The largest, known as “GoBigger,” boasts a massive 19′ x 33′ widescreen configuration along with crisp HD resolution and marks the industry’s first and largest truly high-definition mobile video screen.
GoVision is also setting-up a truck-mounted screen for a watching party at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC.
“We believe January 20th will go down as the biggest large-screen rental day in history,” said Curtis, who has fielded calls from organizers of events in several cities across the country.
“We are pleased that our screens will be a little part of history on the world’s biggest stage,” said Myron Linde, Daktronics Mobile and Modular Sales Manager. “GoVision is a great rental partner and customer of ours and we know they’ll put on a great show by showcasing the most advanced technology on the market today.”
