GoVision rolls out world’s largest mobile high-def LED to trumpet newest Dallas landmark
DALLAS (July 6, 2010) – Groundbreaking ceremonies can be fairly lackluster affairs, especially when the primary visual is a big hole in the earth. But organizers of the official unveiling of Dallas’ Museum Tower – the new centerpiece of the Dallas Arts District – found a way to bring the soon-to-be-iconic structure to life in spectacular fashion: By running graphic simulations of the 42-story building’s construction and artist’s renderings on the world’s largest mobile high-definition LED screen.
GoVision (www.jumbo.tv), one of the nation’s premier suppliers of turnkey mobile LED units and customized modular LED walls, provided its massive “GoBigger” unit for the June 24th groundbreaking ceremony in downtown Dallas. The 19′ x 33′ high-definition screen provided a compelling visual backdrop for the well-attended media event, which was headlined by Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert; Lt. Gerald Brown of the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System, the owners of the building; and several other local dignitaries and VIPs.
“The GoBigger unit was instrumental in conveying the excitement of this landmark addition to Dallas’ skyline,” said Greg Greene, principal of Turtle Creek Holdings, one of the Museum Tower developers. “An undertaking of this magnitude and long-term significance deserved to break ground with some sizzle, and GoVision’s giant screen made that possible.”
Greene was joined by co-developers Dan Boeckman of Turtle Creek Holdings, Inc., and John Sughrue and Lyle Burgin, principals of Brook Partners, Inc.
“GoBigger crisscrosses the country to enhance some of the biggest and most important events there are, from Presidential inaugurations to Super Bowls to Final Fours and more,” said Chris Curtis, CEO of GoVision. “But we’re always especially proud when we get to be a part of history in our own backyard. And there’s no doubt Museum Tower is destined to be the most exciting addition to Dallas’ skyline in a generation.”
In addition to providing a larger-than-life view of the speakers and the official groundbreaking itself, GoBigger wowed the crowd with multi-media graphics and artist’s renderings of the architecturally significant, contemporary high-rise as it will appear when fully constructed at the end of 2012. Hosting 122 luxury residences, Museum Tower will offer unparalleled privileges to those who call it home, including stunning views of the much-anticipated new Woodall Rogers Park being constructed above the Woodall Rogers Freeway.
Museum Tower will pursue the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® certification and is 100 percent owned by the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System.
